In 2020, our tourist promotion company, known as APT, made a significant change. Both formally, to comply with a new provincial law, and in terms of the content of our work.
A new young and talented director arrived, and all topics have become more aligned with the social trends of our time.
Meanwhile, at the political level, the organization has also gained credibility. Garda Trentino (which, by the way, this name was coined by Carlo, who was the director many years ago) has become Garda Dolomiti, embracing under one “umbrella” the Ledro Valley, the Comano Valley, and more recently also the Gresta Valley.
The first bet was placed on making the destination appealing year-round. Because it’s easy to attract visitors in the summer, given how much natural beauty we have. But to convince someone to choose you in the winter…
We are already starting from an excellent base.
Here, autumn and winter are months that are both climatically and visually captivating.
Personally, we are impressed with how things are progressing.
We are a structure that will hardly be able to operate all year round. We are in the “lake area,” where from November to March almost everything is closed, and we also suspect that without a wellness center, we might not be very attractive.
However, the common good is always the most important thing in life. And having a Garda Trentino alive for 12 months would be a source of pride.
Apart from Christmas, for example, the APT is striving to organize all events of interest, avoiding overlapping on the same days.
They have done this brilliantly for the upcoming October and November. Months that are still beautiful for exploring the villages, hiking the trails, or simply feeling #young.
There will be something happening every weekend. From the freshwater fish festival in Torbole to the Lomaso potato festival, from Drena’s chestnut festival to the pumpkin festival.
Up to the famous Ciuga Sausage Festival and the even more popular Bleggio Walnut Festival.
On November 10th, there will be the much-followed Half Marathon, and starting November 15th, the Gusto in Gusto Christmas market will open.
Could it be that, in the not-too-distant future, we will read about a Garda Trentino full of Carnival events?!
