#5 BEHIND

It’s when you can actually live the pool that the Brione season really kicks off.

We’d love to stretch the season out a bit, as they say in the business. It’d make us happy if our guests came to enjoy the Brione in spring, in autumn. Even on rainy days.

And thankfully, some already do.
Some come to bike, some to hike, some for a special event.
Or – even better – because they feel a connection to this place, and being here gives them peace.

But the pool is the real magnet. And fair enough – I mean, isn’t that what vacation is for?

Last week, we had a young and well-known German influencer staying with us. As soon as she arrived, she filmed everything with her phone – the room, the bar, the garden. When she got to the pool, she let out a spontaneous “Ooooooh, the hotel we’re staying at even has a pool!” Though she did add, “It must be cold though.”

Sun, refreshing showers, a nap, a book, a few swims. That’s what we call pure idleness.

Switching off.

Recharging.

Letting the mind go quiet for a while.

Even though we’re close to the road, our inner garden – large and tucked away between the three wings of the hotel – creates a soft, sheltered atmosphere around the pool.
Often, you’ll hear birds singing. The wind moving through the branches.

Sure, there are the occasional outbursts – a motorbike speeding past (ugh), an ambulance siren.

But anyone who’s been here will tell you – this green space of ours is a little oasis.
And this past weekend, the first properly hot one of the year, the pool was the place to be.

Carlo – who really is the heart of Brione – calls it our GREEN LUNG.
