They have recently celebrated their golden anniversary and are 2 friends of Brione.
At the time I was still a boy who attended high school in Rovereto and helped out in the hotel. One day, among others, a group of German boys arrived at the Brione. Two of them had room number 6, their names Manfred and Regina.
They weren’t married yet, because they were young sweethearts. “On trial” on vacation.
Manfred and Regina have Garda in their hearts and have always been guests of Brione ever since. They are now very dear friends, much more than guests.
The daughters passed through here, first little girls then in turn accompanied by their respective companions. Etcetera et cetera, all pages of a beautiful story.
Manfred and Regina a few days ago entrusted their regret to social media.
The “monster”, that thing called covid 19 that has destroyed 2020 and is also endangering 2021, blocking the world, has also prevented them from adequately celebrating their golden anniversary.
The limitations and restrictions in place, however, did not stop Manfred who made Regina discover a beautiful bouquet of 50 red roses.
Our response was immediate, spontaneous:
“As soon as Mrs. Merkel allows it, get in your car and we will celebrate here, on your Lake Garda, in Riva.”
