Our garden, where the swimming pool is located, is sheltered from the road and the many noises of an urban area. Thanks to the shielding of the three buildings, each with three floors, that house the rooms and are arranged to the south, west, and north.
To the east, if you look up, you can see Monte Brione.
The typical Garda wind passes through softened, bringing relief from the heat without those strong gusts that in summer afternoons on the lakeside send towels flying.
The traffic from Viale Rovereto is barely noticeable. Occasionally, of course, you may hear the loud sirens of the police or the sporadic roar of a motorcycle (luckily, the speed limit on the avenue is 30 km/h). But especially from lunchtime onwards, the wind blowing from the lake towards the north helps to sweep away many disturbances.
When we talk about our place, we often take pride in saying that here there is SILENCE.
Most of our guests choose us to regenerate. To rest on a sunbed, read, and enjoy a few days of relaxation.
Or they choose Brione as a base for exploring the area—whether by bike or on foot, a swim in the pool upon return is always a pleasure.
In essence, this is simply what it means to be on vacation.
Carlo has dubbed it “Active Idleness,” a mood that always accompanies us when we write about ourselves.
Idleness, in itself, might have a negative connotation—like not wanting to do anything. But ACTIVE is the perfect companion, the energetic friend who manages to motivate even the laziest, those full of potential but needing a spark to ignite.
And so, in our “silent” garden, we often see the smiling faces of those who are there to relax, it’s true. They have let go of work-related stress, thoughts left at home, and physical fatigue. But they didn’t come here just for that.
Tomorrow, they plan to visit Arco Castle. Tonight, they are considering having an aperitif in Riva’s town center, with a lake view. They noted that the Ponale trail is worth walking, at least a part of it.
Active Idleness keeps the mind switched on. Because, in life, we need positive stimuli if we want to go to bed at night feeling truly fulfilled.
