#1 THE STEP

The intention is to climb one step higher.
Another one, quite decisively.

From 2026 onwards, Brione will have rooms—and above all, a structure—entirely built in this millennium.
From the time of our original construction, only the foundations will remain.
And that’s exactly how it should be: because our roots matter to us more than anything else.

Using the excuse—a very real one—of the urgent need to replace the roof of the main building, the very first one built back in 1953, we took the opportunity to renew our ten oldest rooms. Replacing them with six more spacious ones. Three per floor.

To help you picture it: we’re talking about the wing of the hotel that houses the entrance, the reception and the bar. And the rooms above, facing the street.
Rooms that were already beautiful in their own way—bright, pleasant—and that many guests appreciated despite their imperfections.

Those imperfections, however, were not insignificant. The bathrooms—and especially the showers—were in real need of renewal. The systems were worn, the windows no longer guaranteed proper insulation, neither acoustic nor thermal.
The furniture had “seen some years”, and although parting with well-kept pieces is always a little painful, for those who offer hospitality, the eye deserves its share too.

And honestly, it would have been a missed opportunity to have cranes and scaffolding in place for the roof and not take on an improvement like this.
An improvement that allows us—quite literally—to step up another level.

Like our previous renovations, this one too has aimed to be as non-invasive as possible. Mainly to keep costs under control, but also because preserving our identity as a family-run hotel—one that long-standing guests recognise as their place—matters deeply to us.

The new rooms will keep the same load-bearing walls as before, meaning that bathrooms and furnishings adapt to spaces that already existed. But above all, the step we are taking will not change who we are in the eyes of those who choose to stay with us.

To be clear: a rise in the quality of our offer will not coincide with a rise in our prices.

We will have fewer SIMPLE rooms (the new name we’ve chosen for what used to be our Standard and Garden rooms), which remain the most competitively priced on a per-person, per-night basis. Everything else will continue to follow our usual, measured inflation trends from one season to the next.

The six NEW ROOMS will be six Oliva rooms. Just like those designed two years ago—this time, however, with a stronger focus on multi-bed and family layouts. A natural continuation of what has proven to be a successful choice: offering more comfort and privacy to third and fourth guests sharing a room.

Very honestly, we are fortunate compared to many of our colleagues: we have a large hotel, with many rooms. Giving up four more units (after the four we already sacrificed two years ago) to replace “+sofa” solutions with properly equipped rooms will not put us under pressure. On the contrary, we hope it will bring a clear added value.
