#11 DUS = I SLEEP ALONE

The acronym obviously stands for DUS – Double for Single Use.
A twin room that, when needed, can also be occupied by just one guest (who gets to sleep nice and wide ?).

Usually, when a guest searches for this option, they find a dedicated rate: the price of a double room for two people, minus the cost of services for the second guest. Towels, breakfast, cleaning…
Which means that, in the end, it can turn out to be more expensive than what a couple would pay for the same room.

Over the past few years, we’ve tried to soften this very rigid mathematical calculation, reducing the overall cost and becoming more welcoming towards guests travelling on their own. And truth be told, it’s a profile we see more and more often.

We tried to put ourselves in your shoes. Personally, for example, I’d love to travel solo, and I think our area is particularly well suited to being explored independently.
But then again… to each their own ☺️.

Starting in 2026, at Brione we’ll handle this type of request a little differently. The “DUS” room will become a category in its own right: that specific room, in that specific location, with those exact features.

Perhaps this will take away the chance for someone to indulge in occupying a particular room while travelling alone, but we believe this choice will ultimately bring more comfort overall.

Previously—very honestly—when a single reservation came in without a specific room category, our team would block the smallest rooms. These could face the road, the inner side, or the garden.

Now, the DUS will be only the one shown in the photo.
Located on the ground floor, overlooking the pool garden. Spacious enough both around the bed and in the bathroom—where, in that wing, all the showers were completely refurbished in 2025.

So, will it no longer be possible to stay alone in a Balance or Oliva room?
Let’s say it will no longer be possible to book them ❌.

Our availability and flexibility remain the same. If, in certain periods or to meet specific needs, you make an explicit request… if we can, we’ll of course try to help.

But for now, think about it.
Have you ever travelled alone?

Quiet solo walks, an ice cream while looking at the lake, reading by the pool in the shade of the camphor tree… and on some evenings, you might even stumble upon a lovely live music performance to enjoy.
