There was the era of carpet floors in all rooms, corridors and common areas.
To talk about us, we installed the porcelain stoneware tiles that we walk on in the TV room, now the children’s room, a few years ago. Previously there was a covering of textile fibers there too.
Carpet seems to be a material that has gone out of fashion but in reality this is not the case. It is still highly recommended in relation to quality, performance and price. And then it absorbs the noise.
This type of flooring has always been chosen in hotel bedrooms and corridors, above all to avoid disturbing nearby guests with walkways, or to muffle the noise of suitcase wheels in the hallways.
Which is why corridors are still the area where it is very rare to find a marble, tile or parquet floor.
But we will change. At the lake perhaps it is right to think about something else.
Our 19 new rooms will all have LVT flooring.
(Actually 17, because I got stuck on the carpet in rooms 120 and 220 which had recently been changed and throwing it away was truly a crime).
Today LVT is the material that copies the most efficient, designer and above all long-lasting wooden parquet.
It is a vinyl compound processed in such a way as to be elastic when walking on it and completely sound-absorbing. With a remarkable visual impact.
We installed it in 2017 when we did the Green rooms and we were pleasantly surprised.
Furthermore, it is also resistant to water and since 13 of our renovated rooms will have the bathroom part of the washbasins IN THE ROOM we had few doubts.
However, let’s dispel the myth that carpet = dust, dirt and poor hygiene.
By now cleaning products have reached very high levels, there are machines that wash them very well and what’s more they are better suited to replacing them because the bottom of the boiler does not get ruined (usually we changed them every 5-6 years).
Ah!
Speaking of carpet. We are waiting for the final proposal of the one we have chosen for the new corridors outside the renovated rooms.
We asked the supplier to be a little daring, so that even the glance as you pass by has its part.
