On the 4th of May our government decided to lighten lockdown restrictions which have been in effect for 56 days. Many companies restart their activities, people are allowed to leave their houses and visit their relatives, cycle tracks and hiking trails are used again.
But there are still limitations: aggregation and meeting points are still closed and forbidden, it is not allowed to leave the own region and people must get used to protective face masks.
Our hotel is still closed as all the other hotels in Riva del Garda. But we are going to start our summer season soon!
The first thing that came to our minds, as soon as the lockdown has been lightened, was to go out and have a walk. It simply means to breath fresh air, enjoy the sun, move our bodies that have been motionless for too long.
To walk…is something that everyone could do, no matter what his habits are like. Actually, it is recommended for a healthy lifestyle.
The term “outdoor” is very used. To support our territory we address ourselves to “outdoor lovers” who are often identified with sportsmen, since our area results as the ideal place for their activities.
But to identify this concept only with sports, often even understood as extreme sports, could be misleading: to stay outside (outdoor literally means to stay outside of the door) is not only to practice sports but much more.
These thoughts spontaneously arose in a rainy day while we were walking along the lake promenade.
Here in “Gardatrentino” we live of “fresh air”. Therefore, what makes our territory precious are nature and those services that are meant to support nature itself. In fact, things we can restart to do are much more than those that are still (and rightly) forbidden.
Some examples?
- To walk alongside the lake in our lunch break under the sun. This activity is also enjoyable under the rain.
- To read a book in the shadow of a tree
- To ride on cycle paths
- To pick flowers
- To have a picnic among the olives trees with the family (or with friends but respecting the required distances between each other)
- To drive to Tenno, Ledro and Cavedine to enjoy the view of their respective lakes
- To eat an ice cream in the city center or near La Rocca (the moated castle)
- To fish but not with the aim to actually catch fishes but only to have the chance to relax somehow
