#11 NEWSLETTER WITH A BOW

In our November newsletter we promised a little Christmas present to anyone who replied with their address.

No, it was not a marketing move to "steal" sensitive data.

Rather, as well as hopefully a welcome thought, it was also an experiment to understand how many of our conscious subscribers actually read our mail.

Newsletters are known to be annoying. You sign up to see if any interesting offers happen, if any discount codes arrive. We often sign up so as not to seem grumpy towards whoever proposed it to us.

Our "campaign" is instead a little more ambitious.

We just want to get acquainted. Keep in touch with those who visit us regularly at the hotel or perhaps have come only once never to return.

We like to think that someone might be interested in knowing how we manage the hotel and what happens inside.

The Christmas present that will be sent out in the next few days is aimed at 32 people.

And this seemingly small number we assure you is much greater than how many responses we normally receive.

But only 32?

Well, that's kind of the point.

Thirty-two responses were a lot for us. Because beyond the promise of a gift (-ino), taking the trouble to reply to an email from a hotel in the age of email with dozens of messages in bold type every morning is an action of great value for us.

It gives a sense of intimacy to our correspondence.
