#10 THE LIGHTS WERE OFF

We have closed. Despite the beautiful and unusual climate that warmed the All Saints’ Bridge.
It was quite strange to be inactive on a weekend where Riva del Garda was, let’s not exaggerate, overrun.
Yesterday many people even bathed in the lake.

To think that the first 2 days of November are generally gray and sad

Even though we “seasonal” work, it rarely happens to have the hotel shutters still lowered in periods when there are many tourists.
Trivially, here we remain closed in the months when there is little “demand”. And in winter there is very little of it.

Except perhaps, in recent years, for the Christmas period. However, when the influx of guests is not in the least comparable to the summer one, and in any case limited to a few days close to the holidays.

We sincerely would like to stay open more. We live in a paradise like Gardatrentino which is really beautiful all year round.
We think we would easily find a reason to take a vacation even in the coldest months.

We were discussing it a few days ago with a friend who has a jewelry store in the center.
“Why don’t you hoteliers like in South Tyrol where, in the low season months, someone in turn is always open? So as to always give prestige to the place? “

We can’t do it due to our position on Viale Rovereto and how we are structured, with large spaces, a dispersive breakfast room and few indoor services. The expenses far outweigh the potential winter income.

This is why on the 26th we greeted the last guests of the year and said goodbye to all our travel companions. After cleaning and arranging the hotel together, dismantling the rooms, turning off the fridges and lights.

Moreover, it is also closed to have time to do some work. This year not yet the necessary renovation of the oldest wing of the hotel, the one that overlooks our garden facing the street.
But there is much more we can do to improve. How to increase the equipment in the rooms with power outlets or replace the less comfortable mattresses.
