#8 THE BABIEJ

A sin must be confessed immediately. For years at the reception we always made the same bad joke, before they arrived at the hotel.

“Will it rain again this year?”

The bad luck has haunted the Babiej gentlemen for years and their stay at Brione has often been quite wet.
Although perhaps it has never bothered them that much.

The wheel turns for everyone, right ?! Do you say so?
For some seasons this myth has in fact been debunked with blinding highlights.

Loyal customers and a unique kindness, they have been coming from Bavaria for almost 40 years now. Lately alone, with her grown-up daughter she works many miles away from home.

Andreas is a retired engineer and he told us that he was very bored during the first lockdown for covid and that he rediscovered one of his first loves at that time: wood.

Nina was the first lucky one to know the works of this phenomenal German Archimedes.
The first is a millipede made with corks that “crawled” when a handle was turned.
Then a wooden toy box with wheels and a beautifully drawn Pinocchio.

This year the masterpieces have multiplied as much as the generosity of Andreas and his lady.
For each granddaughter of the Brione an artfully made wooden toy.

It is also hard to say THANK YOU in these cases. It is little compared to the gesture …

A friend at the hotel who witnessed the delivery of the toy cars and pets opened his eyes wide. “You see – he says – this is the real value of the work you do.

And it is very true!

Welcoming is not filling the rooms and counting attendance. It is human relationships that enrich you.
