Who knows if the future of Brione will be tinged with pink.
Carlo and Linda in just over 2 years have become grandparents of three girls, Nina, Mia and a few days ago Anita, second arrived in my house and Giulia’s.
Anita was born on the day of the Befana, which is celebrated here by putting an empty sock hanging from the fireplace in the hope the next morning to find it full of sweets.
Or of “brumm” (toy cars), as Nina hoped.
We often make fun of Carlo because when he discovered that he would become a grandfather, inevitably overwhelmed by emotion, he stammered “if it was a boy I would have bought a boat to take him fishing.”
Said without any malice, none of us were offended.
What an old-minded grandfather, though! That he divides the boys with cars and the girls with the dolls.
Needless to do it on purpose Nina has become a lover of engines, fire trucks and ambulances.
Other than going out to fish exclusively for boys !!!
Moral, when the third child arrives, the grandfather must have resigned himself. He hasn’t talked about the boat anymore and in the meantime he will continue to go fishing (rare) with Franco, Violeta’s boyfriend.
And who will stay in the hotel when Carlo goes to live among the olive trees of Monte Brione with 3 hens and won’t want to know about working anymore?
Maybe!
Maybe Andrea circumcised by women. His wife, his sister, his daughters, his niece …
Basically like military service??.
Seriously looking at the future with these eyes can only come out a beautiful dreamy smile. It would mean that after Nonna Fernanda and Carlo the Brione will continue its story, refuting the sad rumor that the first generation creates, the second keeps, the third destroys.
We also always like to look ahead with optimism, as the sport we are so passionate about teaches us.
“If you did the best you could do to prepare yourself, be at peace with yourself.”
And then, speaking of women, if the future were really the Lady Brione, how could we not be calm?
The Brione brought it up by a woman. In the first person, in the years (the 50s) where women were forbidden much more than playing toy cars.
Nonna Fernanda was a General. An entrepreneur, a worker, a cook, an ever-present mother.
So let’s hope she’s female! The future.
Not necessarily pink, not necessarily scented or “well” matched colors. Right?
This is also commonplace about women. Like that of the fishing boat.
